Under 18's coach Neil Critchley has told crewealex.net how the academy are looking forward to their first game in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday evening.
As the first team prepare for their encounter with MK Dons, Critchley and his side are looking ahead to two fixtures in four days. Tomorrow morning they play their League fixture at Manchester City but then on Tuesday they travel to Ashton Town for their fixture in the FA Youth Cup and coach Neil Critchley has expressed how despite the quick succession of games it is a match they are looking forward to.
He say: "We're going to have to give some consideration to what teams we put out as a lot of the boys have been playing a lot recently, but that's why they are in football. Manchester City away followed by Ashton Town away, it's an exciting time for everyone and we're all looking forward to it. We'll just have to see what happens."
Confidence is high in the camp with the boys having a fantastic season so far but Neil admits that is not something they can take lightly and the preparation for the game will remain the same, the lads just don't need to succumb to the pressure.
Critch adds: "We don't go on about results too much, but the boys have only lost twice so far this season so they should be full of confidence but there is a fine line between confidence and complacency.
"It will be interesting and a different type of pressure on them. It is a bit of a banana skin for us, there is not really as much pressure on them, they can go out and enjoy the night but I think we are expected to win so that creates a bit of a different type of pressure on the players. Only time will tell to see how they handle that."
