Crewe Alexandra's youth team Manager has spoken of his delight with the link-up play between last weekend's starting forwards.
Youngster Josh Thompson, who netted twice in the game against Wolves last weekend, has developed a fantastic striker partnership with second year scholar AJ Leitch-Smith and Manager Neil Critchley is impressed with the two starlets:
Critch says: "We started the game very well on Saturday, the passing and the movement in the final third of the pitch was very good we created quite a lot of chances, scored in the first minute from a corner - Matt Lund bundled the ball over the line and then AJ Leitch-Smith linked up twice with Josh Thompson - slid him in, Josh made two great runs and finished the moves off well so inside half an hour we're 3-0 up.
"AJ in particular first half was very good, his link up play with Josh was a real feature of our play"
The boys did well to with stand the pressure they were being put under and Neil recognises that they have been spirited and strong in this so far successful season.
He says: "To go into a 3-0 lead is obviously good, for Wolves to come back into the game and make it 3-2 they would have thought they could get something out of it but I thought our lads defended resolutely, stuck together and showed a bit of spirit, which they have done all season - that's a credit to them, it was a pleasing victory."
