Youngsters Have Already Shown Improvement

Steve Davis says youngsters continue to impress as they look to grab their chance

Steve Davis says he is already seeing an improvement in his young players. The Alex boss was pleased to see the likes of Liam Nolan, Billy Waters and Ollie Turton certainly impress against Championship side Bolton Wanderers in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night. Defender George Ray also performed admirably up against the towering Conor Wilkinson before was forced off with a facial injury.



The Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “We have seen an improvement in all of them. They are all working hard to improve and are taking on the information we are giving them.



“They are still learning and will make mistakes along the way but they are all heading in the right direction. That is not only the ones currently in the team but the ones who are on the fringes as well.


“They are getting closer. James Baillie and Callum Saunders have already made their debuts this season. George Cooper was on the bench on Tuesday night and James Jones is doing very well.


He added: “They have all got to remain positive and keep going and their chances will come.”
