Uche: "A Great Learning Curve"

5 May 2015

Ikpeazu says he enjoyed his spell at Crewe this season despite losing his place towards the end.

Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan forward Uche Ikpeazu says he will only learn and improve from this season’s experience. The 20-year-old striker endured a mixed campaign either side of a loan spell at Doncaster Rovers at the beginning of the year.

The Watford starlet scored two goals in 8 games during his first loan spell with us but he decided to move to the Keepmoat in January and he failed to score in his seven appearances there.

Crewe were quick to bring him back to Cheshire, but it took the powerful front man a period of time to regain his overall match fitness after being used rather sparingly as a substitute by Paul Dickov towards the end of his loan.

Ikpeazu started four games and came on a further five times during his second loan spell at Crewe Alexandra and he says it will be a valuable learning curve for him.

Uche told the club’s official web-site: “I’ve enjoyed my time back at Crewe because the club have done a lot for me. I am just happy for everyone that the club have stayed up again. It has been a long and testing season for me at times but a great learning curve for me.

“I’ve learnt a lot and that is what it is about as a young player. The staff and fans have been great with me and I have learnt a lot from this season and will continue to learn.”
