Makeshift U21’s Lose-Out At Blades
An extremely young Crewe Alexandra Under 18 side lost to high flying Sheffield United, taking the Blades to top of the U21 PDL2 table and making it 14 matches unbeaten.
Regular Blades U21 scorer Diego De Girolamo opened the scoring on 35 minutes, reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box to roll in.
Crewe conceded a penalty on 64 minutes, Jake Wright’s shot being handled in the area and the striker stepped up to slot in the penalty and with it seal the points.
On the plus side for Crewe, George Ray and Harry Davis both completed 45 minutes on their respective returns from injury.
