Ten Man Crewe See Off Whites At Reaseheath

Kenny Lunt’s Crewe Alexandra Under 18’s recorded back-to-back wins after a 2-0 home victory over Leeds United, despite playing a majority of the second half with just ten men.

Centre back Tom Quinn was issued a straight red card around the hour mark with the score 0-0 for a professional foul, with the referee deeming the challenge too reckless.

Despite the set-back, the Crewe ten-men were galvanised and took the lead 15 minutes later, Tom Lowery smashing in off the underside of the bar from close-range after a neat interchange from Luke Walley and Owen Dale.

That lead was double five minutes later and ten minutes from time as the Alex battled out the victory, Dale winning the ball in his own half before embarking on a mazy run through the Leeds defence before teeing up the supporting Oliver Finney who smashed in at the near post.

Crewe: Wardley, Woodcock, Quinn, Wilkinson, Neal, Finney, Rielly, Lowery, Lundstram, Higham, Dale
