A valiant effort by Crewe Alexandra's young guns wasn't enough at Birmingham City, as an U18 side made up mainly of 16 and 17 year-olds lost out 6-1.The Alex held their full-strength hosts to 0-0 at half-time, but conceded three goals in eight second half minutes to fall behind before pulling one back through Harry Pickering.
