Tootle making good progress but won't be risked tomorrow
Steve Davis has revealed that his captain Matt Tootle ‘isn’t quite ready’ to resume playing following his viral infection. Tootle has been able to train this week but won’t be risked for the visit of Doncaster Rovers tomorrow afternoon. After speaking with the manager, the 22 year-old right-back says the two-week break will be more beneficial for him as he aims to fully recover from his illness.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Matt is making good progress but is not quite ready. I spoke with him and he has informed me that he doesn’t quite feel 100% yet.
“It is good that he come to me and been honest and you always listen to an experienced player about how he feels and how his body is.
The boss added: “We had a chat with the break coming up next week and decided that the two-week break will do him good. I’m sure that he will be set and ready for when we go to Scunthorpe.”
