The Spirit Was Great In The Camp

30 March 2015

Steve says he felt the team could do something speical at Sheffield United after a good week

Steve Davis admits that he and his staff had a good feeling going into last weekend’s trip to Sheffield United after seeing the spirit in the camp rise during the week. The Railwaymen quickly moved on from last weekend’s disappointing defeat by Oldham to record a first ever win at Bramall Lane. A last minute wonder strike from Ryan Colclough sealed the points in a superb 2-1 win.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I thought the players played well in the new system. We had worked hard on it all week and the spirit and the confidence in the group was good last week.

“We quickly moved on from the Oldham game and we could see that the spirit was good, particularly on the Friday and they managed to take that onto the pitch the following day.

The boss added: “You have to try and enjoy these types of challenges. There is no point playing with fear or fearing the worse when you are out there. There are seven matches left and you have to take the good times with the bad times because that is football.”
