Boss pleased that his side ended run of two defeats with hard fought draw against Swindon

Steve Davis says he was ‘satisfied’ with Saturday’s performance and result against promotion seeking Swindon Town. The Alex boss was pleased that his Crewe Alexandra bounced back from two away defeats against Doncaster and Barnsley to contain one of the division’s top teams.

On another day, either side could have nicked the three points at the weekend but it was certainly defences on top as an entertaining goalless draw at Gresty Road.

The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “The games are coming thick and fast for everyone and it doesn’t give much time to reflect on the Swindon game. We will analyse what we need to do and move on from it.

“Our focus quickly switched to Rochdale and what we need to do to get a positive result.

“Both sides tried to win it on Saturday and it made for a good game. Both sides could have nicked it and I thought we might in the final ten minutes when they went down to ten men but on reflection a draw was probably a fair result.

“I think both managers were happy with that after a tough game and now we look forward to the next game.”
