Ryan Lowe Signs For Crewe

26 May 2016

Veteran striker agrees terms for a year

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce the signing of experienced striker Ryan Lowe as the Club's first 2016/17 summer recruit.

The 37-year-old has penned terms on a one-year-deal, with the Club's option of a further year and will officially become an Alex player on July 1 2016.

Lowe has decided to join The Alex in League Two having turned down fresh terms from former Club Bury, whom he left at the end of 2015/16 following two years at Gigg Lane.

The talisman struck up a good professional relationship with Manager Steve Davis during a brief one-month loan spell in December last year, in which he scored two goals in six appearances.

Ryan first signed for Crewe ten years ago in summer 2006 and played 74 times over two seasons before moving on to Chester, Bury, Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Tranmere and then Bury again before finding his way back to Gresty Road.

Towards the tail end of last season, the striker netted his 200th career goal and finished the campaign with a highly respectable 202 in 662 career appearances.

Everyone at Crewe Alexandra would like to extend Ryan a warm welcome and hope he enjoys a successful season with us.
