Manager wants clubs fans to continue to show great support in 2014

Steve Davis says he wants the Alex supporters to remain firmly behind the players going into 2014.

Ahead of the Christmas period, the Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “The fans have been great with us. They stayed behind and applauded the players off the pitch against Port Vale, even when we had lost the derby game and you can’t ask for more than that from them.

“They have always tried to get behind us and all I would ask from them is that they stay with us. We are in this together, we win together and lose together. We have gone through some tough times together but we have been together since day one and everything has to be tandem for us to be a success.

“We have been disappointed with the opening three or four months of the season and we are not happy with the position we are in but we can get out of it and we are working hard to get out with it.”
