Steve: "Most Important Thing Is To Avoid Injury"

3 July 2015

Boss just wants his playes to progress through the pre-season games unscathed.

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis is just hoping that his players can progress through pre-season training unscathed as they prepare for their opening fixture away at Congleton next Friday night. The Alex boss is hoping that his players can show some confidence and execute some of the tactics that have introduced since the players returned to full training on Monday.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “You always want to be careful in pre-season if you can and not pick up any unnecessary injuries. You don’t want any set-backs as you prepare for a new season.

“With the game we have coming up next week, I want the players to get on the ball as much as they can and show some confidence. As a manager the most important thing from a pre-season is that the players can work on their fitness levels but get through the games okay.

“I just want the players to enjoy the early games and get back into it. There are six weeks to build up to the opening game of the season and it is still fairly early in our pre-season work.

Steve added: “You want the players to show signs of what we have been introducing to our play in training.”
