Steve and his team have been chasing targets since the closing weeks of last season and the Manager seems pretty confident that another potentially key player could be added to the group sooner rather than later.

He told crewealex.net “We’re waiting on one at the moment who went away over the Bank Holiday weekend to come back, which should be today, and make a decision.

“Again it’s somebody who’s got other options from higher divisions but we’re hopeful that he’ll agree to come. I spoke to him last week with his agent and we had a very positive conversation.

“Hopefully we’ll hear back from him today or tomorrow so we’ll at least get an answer either way. Hopefully we can get that one through the door and that will be the next one.”
