Steve Delighted With Board Backing

27 November 2015

Boss pleased to have signed two on loan ahead of final deadline

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site of his delight in Chairman John Bowler and the Crewe board of directors backing him with two new loan signings ahead of the loan deadline.

The Crewe Alexandra boss gave his squad an almighty lift when signing forward Ryan Lowe from Bury on Monday. The experienced forward repaid some of that faith by scoring a dramatic late winner at Colchester the following day.

With the news that George Ray broke his ankle on Tuesday evening, he instantly became short on defenders with captain Harry Davis still out injured and Stephen Kingsley returning to his parent club Swansea City after his 93-day loan expired following that 3-2 win at Colchester.

Cardiff City defender Semi Ajayi arrived on loan for a month yesterday and will go straight in the team to face Oldham at Gresty Road tomorrow.

Steve told crewealex.net: “The board have back me again and been supportive. I spoke with John and he knows that we have been hit with a number of injuries and I am pleased that we have been able to bring two in this week.

“Ryan coming has given everyone a lift and we were delighted to have him here. We had an emergency with George suffering his injury on Tuesday and the board backed me because we have become short of defenders. “
