Steve Davis delighted to be homing in on his first capture of the summer.

Steve Davis is confident that he has secured his first major signing of the summer and believes that the player will become a key player for us in League Two next season.

The Alex boss has worked hard on making sure he got his business done early with a player, who had generated interest from other clubs.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We are trying to get those players in who will make a difference to us and we have done one, which should be announced shortly. We are delighted with that one because he should be a key player for us next season.

“As soon as we can release it for the fans then the media guys here will get that out as soon as they can. I’m sure it will show our intention because he should do well for us next season.

He added: “We would like to add to that. We are looking for a full-back, maybe an experienced centre-half and both in midfield and attack.”
