Steve Davis praises his players as they secure a hard fought point against Wigan.

He added: "It was a tough game, they are flying of late and they will know they have been in a game this afternoon. They were terrific for us and its a big step forward after the blow that happened at Swindon."

"We worked hard and kept our shape and the boys deserved that. As a manager you can only be proud and pleased by the level of performance from them. I cannot fault them today.

"I thought it was a fair result and a good game. There was a competitive edge to it and a lot of skill and passing on what was a difficult surface for both teams. It was an entertaining game and we have to be happy with a draw on chances created.

"We came in at half-time level and I thought we really deserved that. I thought it was a fairly even first half and it became a fairly even second half as well.

"We had worked on Brad making those type of runs in behind the centre-halves, so we were pleased for them when it came off for our equalising goal. Coco hit a great pass and Brad took it on his chest and it was a great finish from him. It was a terrific goal from us.

"I was pleased with the way they all responded. They didn't going a goal behind to affect them and we tried to carry on doing the right things and created chances of our own.

Following the 1-1 draw, the Alex boss told crewealex.net: "I thought we were good throughout and it was a hard earned point for us. I was surprised we fell behind when we did because we had started better than we have in recent weeks. It was a decent strike from their player but I expect Ben (Garratt) to save them from that distance. I am not sure if he was a bit unsighted or it took a deflection. I will have to see it again. So we were a bit unfortunate to be behind.
