Steve Davis gives us his post match reaction from the Coral Windows Stadium.

He added: "We know what Bradford are good at. They have some real warriors, they compete and get to those second balls. Some of the younger ones couldn't handle it physically but I couldn't fault their commitment."

"The second goal was a piece of individual skill from Clarke but the players kept going. I cannot fault their effort, they are all working hard. They kept trying to get a goal. Brad has hit the bar and Ryan had a great chance to score as well and who knows if one of those go in? I couldn't fault their effort or some of the football we played. We played some good football at times and created some decent chances.

"It was a poor decision and he has given one we didn't expect him to. We know how tough it is to come here and face Bradford at home and that didn't go for us today. We need the referee to be a bit better there for us.

It would have given us a chance to get them in, regroup and maybe change one or two things as well but they have scored from that free-kick and the half time talk completely changes. It is a different speech and it gave them a massive boost. It got their tails up and got their crowd going again.

"Those type of poor decisions do not help us. It is always a tough place to come here at Bradford and you need those little things to go in your favour. It didn't help our cause because I felt we deserved to go in at half-time 0-0 because I didn't think there was anything in the game. We had a couple of half chances and they had a couple as well. There were a few long shots from both sides and 0-0 would have been fair.

Steve told the club's official web-site: "I think you can tell from the way the players reacted at the time and my reaction at half-time that I was disappointed with the award of the free-kick. There had been jostling happening all over the pitch, not just with the centre-halves and forwards but all over the pitch and he had been letting them ride. Then he decided to give a really soft one that we didn't agree with on the stroke of half time and Liddle has headed it it.

Steve Davis was hugely disappointed with the decision that went against his Crewe side on the stroke of half-time which led to Bradford City's first goal this afternoon. Gary Liddle headed home the free-kick but the Crewe staff and players were aggrieved after what they felt was a 'soft' award from the referee.
