What the press made of the trip to Spotland…

The Sentinel
IT WAS a sorry away day for Crewe, but how many times has that been said this season?
Rochdale were rarely troubled in what was a dismal away showing for Crewe and could easily have scored more than the four they did, chalking up 12 in three matches against the Alex this season.
All four goals were avoidable, the two penalties given away were sloppy, and compounded what was a difficult night.
Crewe were always going to be forced in to one change, with Alan Tate suspended, but opted for two more as Brad Inman and Anthony Stewart, as well as Jon Guthrie, all returned in a switch to 4-3-3.

The Chronicle
Crewe Alex paid the penalty for sloppy defending at Spotland as they slumped to a miserable defeat on Tuesday night.
Two Ian Henderson penalties and a Joe Bunney brace humiliated Steve Davis's men as they slipped back to 19th in League One.
The result - which means Crewe have conceded 12 goals in three matches against Dale this term - has placed even more importance on the visit of Scunthorpe United on Saturday (3pm) as the Alex try to rediscover the form which made them one of the division's form teams not long ago.

Rochdale AFC Official Website
Dale returned to winning ways with an emphatic and fully deserved 4-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra.
Two goals from the penalty spot for Ian Henderson and a brace for Joe Bunney gave Dale the three points on what was a cold and wet Tuesday night at Spotland.
