Pogba: "The Manager Was Angry"

12 November 2012

Crewe's leading scorer tells us now Steve's half-time talk turned things around on Saturday.

Mathias Pogba said the words of manager Steve Davis were left ringing in the players’ ears as they made their way for the second half against Colchester on Saturday. A flat first half performance by our standards had us trailing 2-0 after goals from Freddie Sears and Ian Henderson but a second half revival saw loan signing Lauri Dalla Valle pull on back and Luke Murphy draw us level from the penalty spot before Pogba headed home the winner.

After a thrilling comeback, Pogba told crewealex.net: “It was a great win for us in the end. We needed it and were really focussed in the second half.

“We had made one of our worst starts and it made problems for us. The manager was not happy at half-time. He was angry and talked to us to make sure we showed what it meant on the pitch.

“It is good for the manager to be angry some times and we went out in the second half and tried to win for ourselves, the fans and for him. It was a great comeback by us and we were happy we did it.

“I have scored three in three which is good. I had been upset with the number of goals I had but thought if I got one then I would get going again. I just have to keep going now.”
