Mathias Pogba wants 20 goal milestone to celebrate his first season in League football

Crewe Alexandra’s leading goalscorer Mathias Pogba says he wants to finish his first season in League football with an impressive 20 goals. Pogba scored his 14th goal of the season to seal us a first win in three games at Colchester United and the 22-year-old hit-man says he wants his goal to help the club finish as high as we can and bring home some silverware in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final.

The former Wrexham man has an impressive goal tally, considering that he has been asked to play wide right on occasions and his tremendous work ethic has made him a firm favourite with the Alex faithful. So much so that he must be one of the main contenders for the supporters Player-of-the-Season award. If he can reach 20 goals he will certainly have had an impressive debut at League One level that is for sure.

Pogba told Crewe Alex Player: “I started out early in the season with an objective to get to 20 goals this year, so to get to 14 means I have a chance.

“I will keep working to hit my objective until the end of the season. Every game I want to score for Crewe. I did it at Colchester and it helped us win the game so I am very happy with this. When I score and we win it is perfect.

“If I score, I score. If I don’t, I don’t. But I always do my best and the most important thing is always that the team wins.”
