Steve Davis says list of nine midfielders remains in place.

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will remain patient in the summer transfer market as he aims to land his top targets. The Alex boss has stated that the list of nine midfield players he targeted a number of months ago are still available and he will wait as long as he needs to improve his team.

The Alex boss says talks are still progressing with a number of those players’ representatives and he has made it clear that we are still in the hunt for his number one targets.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Talks are progressing and it is fine. The list of nine midfielders we have targeted are still the same. They are still available and they have not gone anywhere. They are waiting like a lot of players and we are still in there.

“If we can get any two of those nine then we will be better in midfield than we were last season. There is no point going for the eighth or ninth choice at the moment if our first and second choices are available.

“I would be happy with any of those two on our list and I will remain patient and wait for the ones we would like. Our top targets are still available and we will do our best to get the best we can because if we do the wait will be worthwhile.”
