Steve Davis pleased with Jamie's work ethic

Steve Davis says he was encouraged by the returning midfielder Jamie Ness on Tuesday night. The on-loan Stoke City midfielder made his first start for the club for almost six weeks in the club’s 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United and the Alex boss was pleased with his contribution at Bramall Lane after a spell on the side lines.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I thought Jamie did fine for us on Tuesday night. It was a good start after he had been out for a little while.

“He was the one looking to play those killer passes to get us in behind them and he worked hard against a tough opposition.

“Jamie has worked hard to gain some sharpness and he has given us food for thought.”
