Boss pleased with Danny's glimpses of quality
Steve Davis was pleased to hand Danny Haynes his Crewe Alexandra debut as a second half substitute against Sheffield United on Saturday and says that is more to come from the on-loan Notts County forward.
Haynes certainly produced flashes of his pace in the closing stages against Sheffield United and Davis is just hoping that his return to match action will quickly see him up to speed in regards to his match fitness. Haynes had been limited to just two appearances for his parent club this season before joining Crewe on a one month emergency loan.
The Alex boss told the club’s official web-site: “Danny showed some pace and directness in his play and he can take a chance in and around the opposition penalty area.
“We saw glimpses of that potential on Saturday and he offered some life up there because I thought their back four were controlling our forward players well.
Steve added: “Danny has not played a lot of football. He has been training every day and is fit, but he just isn’t match fit. We will see how he does this week and see what will do at the weekend.”
