Moore Ruled Out

More bad news on the injury front as winger is ruled out

Crewe Alexandra’s winger Bryon Moore has been ruled out of tomorrow night’s clash with Oldham Athletic after going over on his ankle during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Stadium: MK. Moore has had treatment over the weekend but the mid-week match at Gresty has come around too soon for the flying wide man. The club remain hopeful that the Stoke-born Moore could be available for the home game against Hartlepool on Saturday.

The available again Chuks Aneke could start his first home game following his recent three-match suspension following his red card at Stevenage. Aneke looks to set to extend his loan deal with the club for a further month after Arsenal agreed in principle.

Crewe are also without Abdul Osman (ankle) and Ryan Colclough (fractured jaw) but Max Clayton has shook off a slight dead leg to make himself available and Mathias Pogba remained behind today from our Under-21 fixture at Derby County to be involved tomorrow. Pogba made his return in Milton Keynes following a recent knee injury.

Steve told the club’s official web-site:  “We have taken Chuks and Pogs out of the Under-21 game because we cannot afford too many more injuries. They will be in the squad tomorrow and could start.

“We will assess the squad today and assess who is available to us. We have lost a couple with Ryan fracturing his jaw and Byron going over on his ankle. He has had some swelling around it but we remain hopeful that he could be involved on Saturday.

“That is the same with Abdul. He is improving but Tuesday night has come too quickly for him.

“Max is fine. He had a bit of a dead leg and we couldn’t carry anyone on Saturday so that is why we changed it and got Ryan onto the pitch. Kelvin (Mellor) also took a knock but he is fine.”
