Boost For Crewe as defender returns to training this week
Kelvin Mellor has successfully made a return to training after overcoming his knee injury. Mellor has missed the last seven games after picking up the injury in the 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the league back in early November.
Mellor is running freely but may not be risked for this weekend’s home game against Bury.
Steve Davis said: “Kelvin is back with the group. He trained yesterday and was fine. It is good to have him back. He is a naturally fit lad, doesn’t put weight on and may not need a lot of time to get back that fitness level
“We may choose not to risk him this weekend and allow him to get two weeks’ training under his belt first.”
AJ Leitch-Smith is expected to train this Thursday after overcoming a knee injury obtained at Portsmouth.
