Ryan Lowe targets promotion after returning to Gresty Road.

Crewe Alexandra’s new signing Ryan Lowe is hoping that the supporters stick with the club as we aim to bounce back from relegation. Lowe, 37, turned down an offer from Bury and other interested parties to re-sign for Crewe Alexandra and the vastly experienced forward is convinced that we can enjoy a successful campaign in League Two.

On signing a one-year deal with the option of a further year, the Liverpool-born Lowe said: “I did have a few options and on offer from Bury but I spoke to Steve (Davis) and he made it clear that he wanted me back here and what we wants from me.

“I could have stayed in League One and potentially not played as many games as I would have liked or been battling against relegation, but I didn’t want that. Crewe wanted me back and I know the ambitions the club have for this season.

“We don’t want to be in League Two and it is our aim to bounce straight back. That is what we all want and we will work hard to achieve that.

man next season.th“I know the fans are disappointed after what happened last season and rightly so but we need them to stick with us. We need them to get behind the manager, the staff and the players to make it a successful season. They need to be our 12

“We need their backing and once we adjust to the league then I’m sure we will have a successful season. That is why I’ve come back because I want to be a part of it.

He added: “I’ve had four promotions before and I want another one. I am nearing the end of my career now but I have that hunger to keep on playing and I won’t stop until that hunger goes. “
