Steve Davis looking for hard work over the pre-season tour

The club’s short pre-season trip to Cornwall will provide the perfect time for the Crewe Alexandra squad to bond ahead of a busy pre-season schedule. Having journeyed to Scotland to face Celtic in a practice match on Saturday, the Crewe squad has left for the south coast this morning where they will train and then play a friendly with Truro on Friday evening.

It will be an ideal opportunity for the new players, Vadaine Oliver, Thierry Audel and the most recent signing Lee Molyneux to integrate with the squad.

Before heading South, Steve Davis explained to crewealex.net: “Cornwall is a fantastic place and if the weather is kind to us whilst we are there, then it would be even better. It will be a great working week and a chance for the squad to bond.

“It will be a chance for us to go down there as a group and for the new boys to get to know the other lads a bit better. I think that is always important and team spirit is vital throughout a long season. It is strong here and we want to keep it that way.

“It will be nice to get away from it all, away from Reaseheath where we are going to be for a lot of the time over the next 10 months and have some privacy. It will be hard work; the players will be doing 2 or 3 sessions a day and they will also have some time for themselves to relax, to go swimming, play golf or head to the beach if the weather is nice.”
