Looking For The Right Blend Up Front

31 October 2014

Boss may change things around up front to find right combination

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he will continue to alter his forward line to find the right formula. Although the Alex boss has to contend with a number of withdrawals from his squad for various reasons, he remains blessed with forward players.

New loan signing Danny Haynes is pushing for a starting place, as is the recently turned 18-year-old George Cooper. He can also call on Marcus Haber, Febian Brandy, Billy Waters, Callum Saunders and if he is fit to travel Brad Inman.

The Alex boss is looking for the right blend in the final third to make sure that they combine better than they did against Sheffield United last weekend.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We needed to be better in the final third against Sheffield United. We didn’t show enough quality and the front three didn’t combine as well as they could have.

He added: “We were not dangerous enough and we have being working on that this week. I have been trying to find that right blend and find a combination that works. We need to be more dangerous than we were last week and we have tried different ideas to improve that.”
