Inman Back In Contention

30 January 2015

Brad Inman back from illness and looking to win a place back in the first-team squad

Bradden Inman’s match winning performance in the Cheshire Senior Cup could well have earned him a first-team recall. Inman was one of Crewe Alexandra’s main goal threats against 1874 Northwich and although he was guilty of missing some chances in one-sided cup tie, he kept himself going to make sure he netted the only goal of the game with a wonderful solo effort with 20 minutes left.

Inman really struggled with illness over the Christmas period and has not featured since the 2-1 defeat away at Scunthorpe in Mid-December when he replaced Harry Davis as a substitute.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “Brad has all the attributes you need as an attacking player. He has pace, can go both ways and he can finish.

“Sometimes he can be unplayable like he was against Bolton Wanderers, especially in the first half when we played them in the League Cup. He has just got to show that consistency on a more regular basis.

“He has worked hard on his defending and improved on that and he knows it is down to him. On Tuesday night he was sharp and scored a great goal to win the game.

He added: “We know what he can do and if he can produce performances like that then he has every chance of being involved. Brad has the ability to play several roles, he can play off the front, out wide and we have played him as a centre forward as well. He can fit into the system.”
