I Never Thought I'd Be Back

New loan signing Andy Bond on his return to Crewe

New loan signing Andy Bond admitted he could have never predicted a return to the club where he started his career. Bond progressed through the ranks here at the Alex, only to leave to pastures new in the shape of Barrow after never making his debut for the club.

After moving back in to the Football League with Colchester, Bond today agreed to return to South Cheshire, and is now looking forward to finally getting the chance to show what he can do in a Crewe shirt.

Bond told Crewe Alex Player: “The last time I came in to training at Reaseheath was six years ago, so it was a bit strange to come back, but at the same time it is good to be back. But if I’m honest I never thought I would have come back!

“But you never know what football brings and now I want to impress. It is important for me to be playing some games. I want to be playing games and to come back home is a nice thing too.

“There are about eight or nine of the squad that I know, so that is nice too, but the main thing is playing football, starting with tomorrow at MK Dons. It is a tough game, but the main thing is that we will be going there to win.”
