Hoping To Open Talks Over Brandy

14 October 2014

Steve Davis would like to keep Rotherham loanee winger

Steve Davis has told crewealex.net that he would be keen to extend Febian Brandy’s loan agreement if all parties agree. Brandy’s loan deal is set to end after what will be an emotional return to Walsall for the forward this weekend, but Davis is hoping to open dialogue with Rotherham boss Steve Evans over the next couple of days to see if an extension is viable.

Brandy started his first game for the club on Saturday after previously suffering with a slight calf problem with Davis describing his full-debut as ‘dynamite’ as he helped Crewe to a 2-1 win over Coventry. Brandy opened the scoring in the game and claimed the sponsors Man-of-the-Match award for his overall performance.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I am hoping to speak to Steve (Evans) over the next couple of days and see where we stand over Febian.

“If Febian would like to stay and Rotherham would like him to get some more games under his belt then hopefully something can be sorted out. I don’t know if Febian is keen to stay, but I am sure he has enjoyed his time here with us so far.

“We will have a conversation and see where we are but it rests with Rotherham because he is their player.

The boss added: “Febian missed the pre-season and he has some trouble with his calf from the first day but he showed what he can do on Saturday when he is fit. He received a standing ovation for his efforts and his goal on Saturday and deservedly so.”
