Steve Davis says Crewe have to pick up points from our two home games this week

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager is hoping to make home advantage count as Swindon and then Yeovil roll into South Cheshire this week. Davis is hoping that his side can take comfort from a spirited comeback against Walsall on Saturday to pick up some points and start to move away from the bottom four in League One. Crewe host Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon Town this evening and Davis is hoping that the Alex fans are as noisy as they were at the Bescot Stadium.

Steve told crewealex.net: “It is nice to be back at home. We have had a few away games of late and been on the road a bit, so it will be good to be back at Gresty Road with our home fans behind us.

“They were fantastic at Walsall on Saturday and they were singing and behind the lads all afternoon. They stayed behind right to the end because they thought something might happen and it did.

Steve added: “They kept us going and now we want to carry that momentum into the Swindon and Yeovil games. We need to picking up points at home. We know it will be a challenge against Swindon but we got a point on Saturday with a last minute equaliser and with the way the game went it felt like a win, so we should have gained some confidence from that.”
