Defender says squad will still be going all out in remaing games

Crewe defender Harry Davis says the Alex won’t ease off despite reaching the 50 point-mark in League One.  The Alex reached their first objective of the season last week with a 2-1 win over Colchester United, but Davis says the Alex will still be going all out for the remainder of the campaign.

Like the whole of the Alex squad, Davis was bitterly disappointed to see the midweek game with Sheffield United postponed due to a frozen pitch at Gresty Road.

But he says the Alex will be looking to take the momentum from last weekend’s win against Colchester in to Saturday’s game with Shrewsbury Town.

Davis told Crewe Alex Player: “It was pretty frustrating not to play in midweek. I don’t think anybody saw that coming, but the weather on Monday night made it impossible to play. That is one of those things and you just have to take it and look forward to the next game.

“Hopefully we can take the momentum of our win last week in to the game with Shrewsbury. It was a really good result against Colchester. It was a hard game on a tough playing surface, but thankfully we dug in and came out with three points. It was a great feeling for all of the lads after the game.

“I don’t think we will set any targets really (now we have reached 50 points), I think we will just try and win every game that we play and see where that takes us. I know it is a cliché but I think will just take each game as it comes.”
