Defender Davis expected to be involved for development squad against Ipswich this evening

Central defender Harry Davis is set to make his long-awaited comeback from his knee injury with a run out for the club’s Development squad this evening. Under-21 boss James Collins is expected to use the returing defender in some capacity for our match against Ipswich Town tonight with the game taking place at the Alexandra Stadium.

It may be that Harry Davis will start the game and be assessed as he continues his rehab following his operation. Davis has not featured since injuring his knee in a training session back in March. His return would be a welcome boost.

Ahead of the Ipswich clash, boss Steve Davis said: “H (Davis) has been making good progress and has trained with us for over two weeks now. He is fine.

“We will look to ease him in gradually. I don’t think when you have been out for six months you can be bang, crash, wallop straight away. It is a psychological thing rather than a physical thing when you have been out so long with an injury.

“We will perhaps look to start with Harry against Ipswich and assess it again at half-time.”
