Club extend Jon's contract until the summer of 2017.

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce that we have exercised our option to extend the contract of Jon Guthrie for a further year. Guthrie, 23, is closing in on 100 appearances for the club since signing from Pewsey Vale in the summer of 2012.

The defender has been a mainstay of Steve Davis’ side this season, making 35 appearances and scoring his first goal for the club in the 2-1 home defeat to Barnsley last month.

Guthrie’s consistent form at left-back and centre-back certainly makes him a firm contender for our Player-of-the-Year award.

Guthrie’s contract extension will take him through to the summer of 2017.
