Granty: "Still The Best Way To Do It"

Anthony Grant says he didn't care how League One status was achieved on the final day

Anthony Grant told Crewe Alex Player after Sunday’s great escape that it is still the best feeling to survive on the final day of the season. The midfielder admitted that when the game against Bradford City was progressing, he didn’t have a clue to what was going on elsewhere as Crewe went in search of the goal that would have made sure we had done it ourselves.

The combative midfielder once again won the sponsors Man-of-the-Match award for his own personal display against Bradford City and in the evening he would finish runner-up to the double player of the season Ben Garratt.

After the relief of staying in League One, Grant told the club’s video station: “It is the best way to do it honestly, on the final day. It is the same feeling as last season, although last season was better because we won the game.

“When the game was going on we didn’t know what was going on, but it is the best way to do it.

“The results went our way and I don’t really care how we did it. That’s football and after the 46 games we are staying up.”
