Anthony Grant says Crewe can win their fourth away game on the bounce

The in-form Anthony Grant says that gaining four points over the Easter period has only increased the confidence in the Crewe camp. The Railwaymen collected three points from a Good Friday visit to Shrewsbury and followed that up with a goalless draw against Colchester on Monday. Although disappointed not to have collated maximum points from the two fixtures, Grant has stressed the importance of not getting beaten and says four points isn’t a bad return.

Grant who completed the scoring with a wonderful solo effort in the 3-1 win at Shrewsbury said: “Taking four points out of six isn’t a bad return for us and although we wanted to beat Colchester it just wasn’t to be. The important thing is we didn’t lose and we can confidence from what we have done over Easter.

“We have to take the positives from the games. We got our first clean-sheet in about 60 years on Monday and had a great win on Friday at Shrewsbury. We know that we have the players in the squad who can produce and every point helps.

“The lads know that if we win both games then we will be safe, so that is what we will be aiming to do. We have won the last three away games and the crowd have been great away and really helped us, so we are confident going into the final two games of the season.”
