Steve pleased with Evans' contribution

Steve Davis says that the on-loan Manchester City youngster George Evans is really beginning to find his feet in League One.

The England Youth International is still very much learning his trade the hard way, engulfed in a League One scrap at the bottom of the table, but Davis has been impressed by the maturity shown by the 18-year-old.

Evans is signed on loan until February and has hinted this week that he would been keen to extend his stay with us longer if an arrangement can be sorted between the two clubs.

Steve Davis told the club’s official web-site: “George has been fine and he is still learning the game. He is still a young boy, only 18 but he is a very mature lad.

“He is eager to do well and impress and is a determined lad. He has a great attitude and has a great work ethic. He has all the credentials and is progressing and improving.

He added: “He scored a fantastic goal against Port Vale and he can add that to his game. He has things to learn and there will be more to come from him, but I know he is enjoying it here and he is getting more competitive all the time.”
