Congratulations to George Cooper, League One Apprentice Of The Year

Everyone at Crewe would like to congratulate George on his award and for his breakthrough this season.

Cooper follows former Crewe Alexandra youngster, Nick Powell, after he won the same award in 2012 following our promotion winning season from League Two.

Cooper has continued to be on the fringes of Steve Davis' starting XI and he has made an impressive 27 appearances in all competitions.

Crewe Alexandra's Academy graduate George Cooper has been awarded the League One Apprentice Of the Year at the Football League Awards in London this evening. Cooper, 18, has broken into the Crewe Alexandra first team squad this season and announced his arrival at senior level with a stunning free kick goal against Coventry City back in October. He followed that debut goal up with a quality finish away at Crawley Town and at home to Preston at the end of December when coming off the bench.
