Garratt Back Handling

31 March 2015

Ben Garratt progressing well as he aims to be back before the end of the season

Crewe Alexandra’s highly-rated goalkeeper Ben Garratt will be stepping up his rehab and will be re-introduced to handling with the club’s goalkeeping coach Fred Barber today. Garratt is recovering from his fractured leg but it is hoped that the England youth International will be able to play before the end of the season.

That was the main reason that boss Steve Davis elected not to sign another goalkeeper on the final deadline day last Thursday.

Steve Davis revealed to the club’s official web-site: “Ben will be doing some handling today and hopefully he will be able to do some light kicking soon. He is making really good progress and hopefully he will be back in the next few weeks to play some games before the end of the season.

“I chose not to bring another goalkeeper in on deadline day because we are encouraged by Ben’s progress and we will see where we are with him a couple of weeks down the line.

“We are confident that he will be back in time before the end of the season.”
