Steve says Dalla Valle is returning to form at just the right time

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis believes the in-form Finnish striker Lauri Dalla Valle could hold the key to our survival with his goals. The former Liverpool and Fulham man is hitting form at just the right time after niggling injuries stalled his first couple of months back at the club.

The hard working forward has opened the scoring in successive games and Davis says having a fully fit and firing Dalla Valle is a huge bonus with three games to play.

Ahead of this weekend’s home game against Walsall, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Lauri has scored in the last two games and he has gained confidence from that. He has the ability and stamina to keep going for you. He is a very fit lad.

“He will chase everything for you. He will chase down lost causes and never gives up and he is very good at following instructions. He is a terrific lad to work with and having him fully fit and sharp is a great asset for us to have going into the final games.

 He added: “Lauri is now showing the reason why we were eager to bring him back here in December. He had a frustrating time with injuries at the beginning but he is back to near his best now.”
