George Evans signs on until the end of the season

Crewe Alexandra is delighted to announce that George Evans has extended his loan spell with us until the end of the season. Evans’ parent club Manchester City have agreed for the 19-year-old midfielder to remain at the Alexandra Stadium to continue his development.

The Cheadle-based youngster has made 15 appearances on loan thus far after joining us in late October. He scored his first goal in senior football in spectacular fashion in our local derby with Port Vale on 23rd November.

Evans’s loan deal was interrupted slightly by a short suspension after collecting five yellow cards before the New Year deadline but he has recently regained his place in central midfield alongside Anthony Grant.

On signing until the end of the season, Evans told Crewe Alex Player: “I am delighted to stay. I’ve enjoyed the experience and feel I am developing as a player.

“I’ve spoken to Manchester City and they know that Crewe is a great club for me to play and develop. I am just grateful to Crewe for giving me the opportunity and now we have to build on what we achieved against Sheffield United on Saturday.”
