Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager, has revealed that the club are having a look at the former West Brom and Wigan Athletic striker Nathan Ellington. The 31-year-old has been training with us this week after leaving his last club Ipswich Town and spending a brief time on loan at Scunthorpe. The former Bristol Rovers hit-man is a free agent and has been using our training facilities to keep fit.
He resides in Manchester and Davis has indicated that he has not ‘promised him anything’ as he looks to get back into the game.
Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Nathan is a free agent after being paid up. He lives in Manchester and asked if he could come in and use the facilities to keep fit.
“He is 31 and sometimes players don’t reach that absolute peak until that age. I am sure he is still feeling young and we will have a look at him. I’ve made it clear that I cannot promise him anything but we will see what type of form he is in.”
