Duggy: "Not Suprised By Boss Link."

3 June 2013

Adam Dugdale says he is not suprised that Steve Davis was linked with the Wolves job.

Adam Dugdale says the news that Wolverhampton Wanderers have appointed Kenny Jackett as their new head coach, is only good news for Crewe Alexandra. Dugdale admits that he is not surprised that our manager Steve Davis has been linked with other clubs and says long may it continue because it means ‘Crewe are being successful’.

Adam told the club’s official web-site: “It has been an unbelievable 12 months at the club and it’s been a pleasure to be involved in it. Steve has come in and been a breath of fresh air to be honest.

“We had some difficult years here, but Dario got us going again and then Steve took off and has done unbelievable really. To win two trophies and have those two trips to Wembley means it has been an exciting time to be a Crewe player and a Crewe fan.

“I am sure the supporters are happy that everything is settling down now after Steve was linked with another club. It just settles everyone down again and as a player you are not worrying about another manager coming in and having his own ideas.

“I am not surprised that Steve has been linked with other clubs, because he has done a terrific job. He has done brilliantly and I’m in no doubt and that one day he will go on and manage higher because he is a very good coach and a very good manager.

“I hope he is linked with other jobs because the club are doing well and being successful and that is what we all want.”
