Gaffer says group determined to prove bookmakers wrong yet again...

teve Davis says his group of players will aim to prove the doubters wrong this season. The Railwaymen have been tipped for relegation once again by the bookmakers but Davis says not-one at the club will be too fazed by being written off.

Davis says that his players used those who doubted them as a real positive last season. Crewe lost just one of their last six games to escape the drop. Many had written us off before the New Year after an indifferent star to the campaign.

Steve told crewealex.net: “You will always have those who will try and criticise and knock you during your career. They will try and put you down but you have to use that to spur you on.

“People are writing us off again, like they did last season but that just creates a siege mentality at this club and the players here use it to prove them wrong.

“Being tipped to go down just make me and my players roll their sleeves up and work even harder. Throughout your career you will have those who believe in you and support you. You want to perform for them and then you have those who knock you down and you become determined to prove them wrong.

“In my opinion having those doubters out there makes us stronger.”
