Dilemma As Vadaine Returns

17 December 2013

Forward back from suspension

Steve Davis says he has a tough call to make against Shrewsbury this weekend as he welcomes back forward Vadaine Oliver from suspension. Oliver missed Saturday’s 2-2 at Coventry City after being harshly sent-off for two booking against Crawley. The second for ‘diving’ was dubious to say the least.

In his unfortunate absence a new partnership of Chuks Aneke and Tom Hitchcock helped themselves to goals at the Sixfields Stadium and Davis has to decide whether to stick with them for the Shrews.

Steve told crewealex.net: “Vadaine has improved since he came here in the summer. That has come from the day to day training and the work we have done with him. There is still more to come and he has to brush up on a few things. He has some way to go and he has to add goals to his game.

“He scored a number of his goals with his head at Lincoln and he hasn’t managed to do that since he came here. That may also be down to us not providing the crosses for him as well. He can be more of an aerial threat.

“Vadaine always gives 100%, honesty and hard work and the fans appreciate that. He delivers that every game and that is a great asset to have as a footballer. He always gives everything he has got.”
