Davis: "We Will Have A Real Go"

Alex boss says his side are eager to test themselves against one of the top teams in League One

Steve Davis says his Crewe Alexandra side will go into tonight’s home encounter with Peterborough with renewed confidence and belief after securing back-to-back victories.

Darren Ferguson brings his promotion chasing Peterborough side to the Alexandra Stadium looking to extend their own unbeaten run to five games. Crewe come into the game with restored belief following morale boosting wins over Coventry and Walsall.

Ahead of this evening’s encounter at Gresty Road, Steve said: “The games soon come around and you don’t have too much time to enjoy a victory but that is all part of the job. After the Walsall game on Saturday, we were quickly planning ahead to the Peterborough game.

“It is an exciting game to look forward to. We know they have one of the strongest teams in the league and are expected to be challenging again for promotion but we go into the game with more confidence after a couple of good results.

The boss added: “They have also won their last two games and have had a good start to the season. We know it will be a test for us but we are at home and we will give it a right go. We have been taking more of a chance in attack and have committed men forward and it has paid off for us in the last couple of games, so we will aim to do that again. “
