Davis Remaining Patient

Boss happy with Haber signing but again won't be rushed into bringing others in

Steve Davis was pleased to bolster his squad with the acquisition of free agent Marcus Haber yesterday and the Crewe Alexandra boss and his staff are working hard behind the scenes to bring more in before the end of the summer transfer window.

Davis is still after two or three targets and has stressed all summer that he won’t be rushed into bringing in quantities rather than the quality few he wants. The boss has been holding out for the players he wants and believes that some may well become available once squads for the new season are finalised.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I have been saying all summer that we have to patient and wait for the ones we want. We have to be realistic and realise how difficult I is sometimes to get players in.

“We have to have that patience there and trust what we are doing. No-one here has been panicking because we knew who are targets were and most of them are still with their respective clubs waiting to see where they stand once the season kicks off.

“We’ve waited for the right ones and we are confident that we will be able to see some of them through to the end. There are some exciting players on our list of targets who will improve us.

He added: “If they come off they will make a massive difference.”
