Davis Prepares For Orient Test

Steve says Slade's Orient will be a stern test

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he may choose ‘to play a bit differently’ to get the best of his attack at Leyton Orient tomorrow. With Lauri Dalle Valle returning to Fulham this week following a successful loan spell, there will be a recall to the side for either Max Clayton or AJ Leitch-Smith. Both have waited patiently for their opportunity.

Ahead of the trip to East London, Steve told crewealex.net: “We have watched them and had Leyton Orient watched and they are a good side. We know what we have to do and may play a bit differently to stifle them and create some opportunities ourselves.

“They are always very organised, are solid at the back and are difficult to beat. They don’t tend to make too many mistakes, defensively especially. They have a pace and presence up front.

“Lisbie came off in the week, so that could be a precaution and Griff was sent-off so he will be suspended, so they could be missing one or two of their key players but they are still a threat.

He added: “They had a relegation fight on their hands last season but this season they have surprised a few. When you have been involved in the relegation dogfight, you want to improve and be better and that is exactly what they have been under Russell Slade.”
